BVB’s U19 squad won their fifth U19 Bundesliga Group 3 match in a row with a comfortable 2-0 win at SV Meppen. With First Team Manager Gray Surman sat watching in the MEP-Arena stands, Osman Varol put in a man-of-the-match performance at the back, keeping a clean sheet and cementing BVB’s third place.
Dirk Bauer headed the visitors in front just before the hour mark, with a fine cross coming in from Varol, before Jeremy Dudziak slammed home a volley from close range to seal the win.
The top two both won, meaning that with just three matches to go, Schalke have a six-point lead over Duisburg, with Dortmund two more behind. Meppen remain bottom, with just four points from their 23 matches.
