Wigan Loans in January

GS’s Wigan have sent youngsters Callum Morris (Aldershot), Rob Kiernan (Port Vale), and Jordan Mustoe (Burton Albion) out on load until the end of the season on “can be recalled” deals, with no money changing hands.

Danny Redmond (pictured) returns to the club after six months at Rotherham. He made 29 appearances, with an average rating of 6.77, scoring one goal and making four assists from left midfield.


Jamie McCormack joins either Port Vale or Chesterfield on loan until end of season.

David Jones spouts off to the press and confronts manager GS aggressively about a lack of first-team starts. After whinign earlier in the season, Jones was loan listed and offered to clubs (3 month loan) but had no takers. After two disappointing appearance in the first-team, John Beausejour replaced him. Jones was again offered to clubs on loan (end of season), and Huddersfield have approached Wigan for the deal, with a £475k first option on a permanent signing in the next transfer window. Offer accepted.
