8′ Darren Bent flicks a header past M’Bolhi and into the back of the net but the flag was up. Good work from Cole to provide the cross.

17′ GOAL ENGLAND! Darren Bent slots home from 10 yards. Cole peels away from marker, controls Baines’s cross, squares for Bent to nudge home.

45′ GOAL! On the stroke of half-time, Lampard’s header from a corner is pushed away by the ‘keeper but only as far as Michael Dawson who lashes home from close range for 3-0.
HALF TIME: England 3-0 Algeria (Bent 17, Rooney 22, Dawson 45). England comfortable if not clinical in this international friendly.
46′ Second half! Gerrard replaced Cole at the break. Oxlade-Chamberlain switches to left wing. Gerrard on the right. Algeria made 3 changes.
49′ Gerrard curls a FK from 25 up and over the wall but its straight at the Algerian ‘keeper and well held.

90′ Carrick meets the corner with a powerful header which is nodded off the line, before Gerrard’s nod down is also hacked away. So close!
