Wednesday 12 June:

Juventus will head to Westfalenstadion on Tuesday 13 August for the climax of both clubs’ pre-season fixtures. The two clubs met in the 1997 Champions League final in Munich, with Dortmund winning 3-1 to lift the trophy for the only time in their history. It’s widely expected this will be der BVB’s only home friendly before the Bundesliga season begins on 24 August.

International Roundup:

hummelsFour BVB players turned out for the German national side in a 3-0 friendly win over Tunisia in Berlin last night. Mats Hummels (8.0, pictured) played all 90 minutes at the centre of defence and collected the man of the match award.

Sven Bender (7.6) played for the first 64 minutes, making an assist for Bayern’s Mario Gömez. Marco Reus (6.7) and Marcel Schmeltzer both came on midway through the second half, but didn’t make much of an impact on the game.

Robert Lewandowski and Lukasz Piszczek both played the full match for Poland in a 0-0 friendly with Norway, both given solid 7.0-rated performances. Neven Subotic was rated 7.8 for his 90-minute performance for Serbia in their 0-0 friendly draw with Romania.

Transfer News:

News has broken that Dortmund manager GS has tabled a bid for Ajax youngster Viktor Fischer. The 19 year-old left winger only made 12 appearances last season, scoring 5 goals, but appears to have caught the eye of the staff at Signal Iduna Park. It’s believed that Ajax would seek a deal around the £9.25m mark.

Toulon Tournament:

The semi-finals have been played in the invitational U-20s tournament in Toulon. Favourites France beat holders Mexico 2-1 with two goals from hotly-tipped youngster Yaya Sanogo, before Chile defeated Switzerland 1-0 to book their place in Friday’s final.
