Dortmund XI 3-0 BVB U19s


It’s a second exhibition match for Dortmund under new manager GS’s tenure, with the senior squad set to take on the club’s under-19s on the Stadion Rote Erde pitch this afternoon. The seniors have 19 players available, with Götze, Gündogen, and Leitner away with Germany U21s, Neven Subotic injured, Julian Koch not set to return from Duisberg for another week, and new signings Viktor Fischer and Andreas Beck unavailable until 01 July. It’s expected that wantaway right-back Oliver Kirch will play no part in the match.

5′ With club captain Hummels and vice-captain Weidenfeller both on the bench, and the low-quality opposition, the side don’t look motivated.

50′ 3-0: Lewandowski picks the ball up on the left, cuts inside, square for Marco Reus to tap home from close range:


51′ Three further substitutions for the Under-19s: Whitehouse, Bungert and Benkarit on for Langensteiner, Hammoud and Riemann.

60′ Dortmund switch to an asymmetric midfield, Reus behind Lewandowski. Löwe and Blaszczykowski taking wide positions.

75′ Dietz catches the BVB back four out lobbing a FK over the wall. Odenthal’s header needs a fingertip save before Löwe clears off the line.

91′ Bungert’s cross bends towards the goal and bounces off the top of Roman Weidenfeller’s crossbar. Halstenberg scrambles away for a corner.
