Want-away right-back Oliver Kirch has told the Dortmund management that he wants to stay, after his transfer request back in January. The 30 year-old has been subject to three ~£500k bids from Bundesliga clubs recently, which BVB reportedly accepted.
With the club set to welcome right-back Andreas Beck from Hoffenheim when the transfer window opens next week, and having promoted Julian Koch and Lasse Sobiech to the senior squad recently, it’s believed that Kirch’s heel-turn request has been rejected as the club trims excess from the wage bill.
Kirch has one year left on his BVB deal, at £13k p/w.
The club has cancelled the 13 July senior friendly against Arminia Bielefeld II.
With Dortmund II not competing in 3.Liga next season, manager GS has met with chairman Reinhard Rauball to request a feeder club. Despite a number of under-23 friendlies arranged, GS would prefer his youngsters play competitive football where possible. Rauball hopes to have a list of suitable clubs within a month.
Head of Youth Development Volker Kersting has reported that teenagers Osman Varol and Karl-Heinz Horn have both rejected proposed one-year extensions to their current youth contracts. No further action has been taken at this time.
