Dortmund’s new signing Andreas Beck is set to start in the friendly at Regionalliga West club Sportfreunde Lotte, with youngster Lasse Sobiech also set to make his debut for the first team. Viktor Fischer will start from the bench where he’s joined by Mario Götze and Moritz Leitner who are back from the U21 Championships. Ilkay Gündogan starts, however.
Sportfreunde Lotte is part of a sporting establishment which was formed as a gymnastics club in Lotte in 1929. After World War II the club was re-established as VfL Sportfreunde Lotte and was built around football and handball departments. Lotte have enjoyed steady progress recently, with two promotions in the last ten years to the Oberliga Westfalen where they play today.
BVB will likely field two different teams either side of the break, with another friendly at Rot-Weiß Oberhausen in just four days’ time. Lotte have named just five substitutes.

Live match report by @realtimeFM:
Lotte welcome a very strong BVB side this afternoon. Manager GS has said he’ll likely field two different XI in each half. Beck makes debut.
0′ Lotte kickoff in front of a packed home crowd. Lasse Sobiech also making his Dortmund first team debut this afternoon.
10′ Penalty shout for BVB as Lewandowski goes down under a challenge from Grieneisen, who comes away with the ball. Nothing given.
12′ Ivan Perisic has gone closest so far, Bender knocks the ball to him on the edge of the box and he fires a shot narrowly over the top.
14′ Lovely move from Dortmund, Perisic forcing a smart save after Lewandowski plays him in. BVB win the corner when Willers tackles Reus.
14′ Perisic’s corner ends up at the feet of Lewandowski three yards out but he can’t get the vital touch on it and Buchholz gathers.
18′ Reus is given acres of space as he brings the ball forward 25 yards but his eventual shot from 18 yards is easily pushed away.
20′ Ilkay Gündogan hasn’t particularly impressed on his return from the U21 Championships, he’s closed down early and hasn’t adapted yet.
22′ 0-1 Kevin Großkreutz. Schmelzer shot charged down, Lotte don’t clear, Perisic knocks the ball to Großkreutz who’s unmarked 10 yards out.
Sportfreunde Lotte 0-1 Borussia Dortmund (Kevin Großkreutz 22′)
24′ Lotte have switched to a 5-4-1 formation. Wingers drop to WB, with a diamond midfield, Prokoph as a target man.
25′ Reus pulls up short chasing a ball down the right. Able to walk unaided, but Dortmund replace him with Jakub Blaszczykowski.
28′ Fischer shrugs off the challenge from Sobiech as he gets into the box, but Hummels closes him down before he can pull the trigger.
30′ Lotte’s corner is played low to the feet of Hohnstedt at the near post. He pokes a glorious chance to equalise wide.
30′ Stats so far: Possession 30-70%, 4-7 shots, BVB only winning 53% of their headers though. Crossing not great so far today.
31′ 0-2 Ivan Perisic. That’ll changes those stats! Großkreutz overlaps from Bender and gets a great cross to the far post where Perisic nods home.
Sportfreunde Lotte 0-2 Borussia Dortmund (Ivan Perisic 31′)
33′ Lewandowski fires a low shot inches wide as Perisic knocks the ball to him 20 yards out.
37′ 0-3 Ilkay Gündogan. Perisic holds off his marker and squares the ball for Gündogan to run on to, take a touch and crack past Buchholz.
Sportfreunde Lotte 0-3 Borussia Dortmund (Ilkay Gündogan 37′)
Half Time: Sportfreunde Lotte 0-3 Borussia Dortmund (Friendly)
HT changes (Lotte): OFF Radke and Fischer, ON Loose and Gataric. Expect a different BVB lineup in the second half.
46′ As expected, ten changes for Dortmund at the break. Viktor Fischer comes on to make his BVB debut. Julian Koch also makes 1st senior app.
48′ Attendance here at the ConnectM-Arena has been announced as a near-capacity 7,164.
49′ Schieber neatly brings Piszczek’s cross down with his chest but his half-volley is acrobatically tipped over by the ‘keeper.
54′ Fischer shows a burst of speed down the left and whips a cross in under the crossbar which causes problems before Leitner is penalised.
56′ Leitner would probably be cautioned for that challenge, he was rather late on his man. Sub for Lotte: Westermann replaces Nauber.
59′ Schieber beats ‘keeper Buchholz to get on the end of Koch’s cross but his header bounces agonisingly wide.
70′ Mario Götze has been replaced by Chris Löwe. He looks ok, may have picked up cramp. Fischer joins Schieber up front.
80′ Lotte are pretty much pinned-back in their own third, but BVB not asking questions of Buchholz often enough.
81′ Fourth change for Lotte, Engelmann replaces Prokoph.
Full Time: Sportfreunde Lotte 0-3 Borussia Dortmund (Friendly)
It’s all over here at the ConnectM-Arena. No goals after the break but BVB’s second XI were still entertaining to watch. BVB win 3-0, and are back in action on Wednesday night at Oberhausen.
Next Match: Rot-Weiß Oberhausen v. Borussia Dortmund (Friendly), 10.07.13
