[DD] U23s Draw, Gold Cup, Reus Out

Dortmund II drew 1-1 with FC København’s reserve side in a friendly in front of 404 fans at Stadion Rote Erde this afternoon, with Pierre Kleinheider making his first appearance in a BVB shirt in his season-long loan from FSV Frankfurt.

Julian Koch, who also played 45 minutes in the senior side’s 3-0 win at Lotte yesterday, opened the scoring with a thunderbolt from 25 yards. Lasse Sobiech, Marc Hornschuh, and Leonardo Bittencourt also also played the first half to improve their match fitness.

Squad News:

reusMarco Reus will miss three weeks of training after he pulled up midway through the first half in yesterday’s senior friendly at Sportfreunde Lotte. While his hamstring injury isn’t as serious as originally suspected, the 24 year-old is likely to sit out the pre-season British tour.
