Dortmund have submitted their list of players to the DFL for the Bundesliga squad for the 2013-14 season after registration opened today. The selection includes all 27 senior squad players plus those eligible from Dortmund II and the Under-19s squad, taking the current total to 48.
Registrations can be amended through to 02 September, and then throughout January 2014, though players signed on free transfers can be registered at any time provided they are over 17.

UEFA will require a squad list of between 15 and 25 names to be submitted on 02 September for the Champions League Group Stages. The Dortmund squad must contain a minimum of 8 players who trained in Germany for at least three years during their 15th and 21st birthdays, including a minimum of 4 players who trained at Dortmund for that time. Of BVB’s current 27-man senior squad, 19 players qualify under the “home grown” rule, 7 of whom trained at the club.
Coach Piet Hamburg has so far failed to get a Continental Pro License. He has been given extra time to try to complete the course. The Pro License is required to be the manager of first team coach of any top flight team in Europe, with a few exceptions.
Argentine midfielder Matias Ezequil Schelotto has joined Valencia from Atalanta in a £11.25m transfer.
CONCACAF Gold Cup:
All twelve nations have now played one group game at the 2013 Gold Cup in the United States. Today’s Group C matches saw Honduras beat Guatemala 1-0 through Jerry Bengtson’s overhead kick on the hour, while Jamaica beat El Salvador 3-0.
