Dortmund’s U23 side kept up their run of recent good form with a 3-0 win over Bayern Munich II at Stadion Rote Erde this afternoon, watched by members of the first team management.
Marc Hornschuh and Lasse Sobiech continued their impressive partnership at centre-back, while Julian Koch played for an hour in his comeback from a hamstring injury.
Taye Taiwo and Kevin Großkreutz also played 75 minutes each to keep the match fitness up after not featuring for the first team yesterday.
Things got off to a great start for Dortmund after captain Marvin Ducksch pounced on a poor back pass by Tayfun Dogru to put the hosts in front inside ten minutes. Eric Durm doubled the lead shortly before the break turning home Großkreutz’s cross from the left. When Sawada gave away a penalty twenty minutes into the second-half, Taye Taiwo confidentally stepped up to smash the ball home from the spot to complete the victory.
