champions-league540

Day two of the UEFA Champions League saw three more goals being scored than in yesterday’s Groups A-D matches. Three of those coming courtesy of Cristiano Ronaldo, whose second-half hat-trick saw Real Madrid beat Anderlecht 4-1 in a match where both sides finished the game a man down following separate red card incidents.

Both German sides won their first matches 3-0 away from home. Dortmund scoring the night’s first goal inside 4 minutes (below) to put them on course to victory at Olympiakos in Group H, while Bayern Munich cruised past Saint-Etienne in their opening Group G fixture. Elsewhere, both Arsenal and Fenerbahce came from a goal down to win their matches 2-1 at home.
