Marco Reus played and scored during the first half of Borussia Dortmund’s reserve friendly at Bayer Leverkusen on Monday evening, after a month’s absence since picking up an ankle injury in the opening day defeat at VfL Wolfsburg.
BVB’s second-string side, unlike the first team yesterday, were in control from start to finish and took a deserved lead after 20 minutes when Reus was on hand to turn home Eric Durm’s cross. The lead was doubled six minutes after the interval when Moritz Leitner played in Durm and the 21 year-old took a touch before slamming past the home ‘keeper.
Kostas Katsouranis and Julian Koch also played some part in the match. Dennis Praet failed a late fitness test.
BVB II have now won seven matches in a row, conceding only twice in those games.
