Bayern Munich got back to winning ways with a dominating 3-0 defeat of Köln at the Allianz-Arena tonight. The visitors survived two penalty shouts by Bayern during the first-half, but couldn’t hold out for long following the interval, Thomas Müller scoring the opener on 50 minutes. Lukasz Piszczek got on the end of a Philipp Lahm cross to double the lead on the hour, before a Javi Martinez free-kick wrapped things up with quarter of an hour to go.
Sami Khedira came off during the second half, and has withdrawn from the German squad with a hamstring injury ahead of next week’s World Cup Qualifiers. Dortmund’s Ilkay Gündogan (pictured) has been called-up to replace him.
Two unbeaten records remain: SC Freiburg travel to Wolfsburg tomorrow, while Werder Bremen don’t play until Tuesday when they play at Köln.
