BVB’s Head Physiotherapist Peter Kuhnt has sadly reported that Andreas Beck faces a month out after sustaining a back strain during a weights session as part of training.
The 26 year-old full back joined Dortmund for £6.25m from TSG Hoffenheim as Gray Surman’s first signing of the summer and has been ever-present for the club this season. The only senior squad backup comes in the form of 22 year-old Julian Koch.
BVB’s medical staff advised that the player could get through the next match against SC Freiburg on 19 October with an injection, but would face 5-6 weeks recovery if he played.
BVB’s management declined the offer and club physios will treat Beck.
