Bundesliga Weekend: 25-27 October 2013

Two goals from Klaas-Jan Huntelaar fired Schalke to the top of the table this afternoon, with a 2-1 win over Fürth who haven’t won in Bundesliga for fourteen matches. Huntelaar takes his total to a staggering 19 for the season, from 17 appearances for club and country.

Elsewhere on Sunday, champions Bayern Munich needed an 89th minute goal from Javi Martinez to rescue a point at VfB Stuttgart who were unlucky not to be awarded a penalty when 2-1 up. The 2-2 draw keeps Bayern 6th, while Stuttgart are thankful of a valuable point to pull them away from the bottom three. Also, Bayer Leverkusen won 1-0 at Freiburg thanks to Stefan Kießling’s 10th goal of the season.
