MLS Playoff Round-Up: 8 Become 4

All four sides holding the upper-hand from last week’s Playoff Semi-Final First Leg ties did exactly what they had to do in order to progress through to the Conference Playoff Finals. In the Eastern Conference ties, New England Revolution and Houston Dynamo played out a dull 0-0 draw in Foxboro to see the Revolution progress 3-1 on aggregate.

Meanwhile, Montreal Impact won 2-1 at Sporting Kansas City with a last-minute winner from Diego Chará, to progress 4-2 on aggregate. SKC played for over an hour with ten men after Kei Kamara’s first-half dismissal for hauling down Marco Di Vaio as the last defender.

The first leg between Impact and Revolution will be played in Montreal on Saturday.

Over in the Western Conference, LA Galaxy and FC Dallas shared a pair of goals, both coming just before half-time which sees the Galaxy win the tie 5-2 on aggregate. Colorado Rapids got their first win over Portland Timbers in four attempts this year, and rattled four goals their opponents without reply. They go through 5-1 on aggregate.
