[DD] Marco Reus: Player of the Week


TUESDAY 12 NOVEMBER 2013: Marco Reus became the fifth different Dortmund player of the season to win the Bundesliga Spieler des Tages Award, after his fantastic two-goal performance in the 4-2 win at Köln on Saturday. Reus is joined in the team of the week by the spine of the VfL Wolfsburg team: Naldo, Kevin Pannewitz and Ivica Olic.

Of the ten weeks of the season, a Dortmund player has won the award five times:

Dundee United have fired manager Kenny Jackett after just eight months at Tannadice. Paul Jewell is the favourite to take over at the club, who have slipped to 7th in the Scottish Premier League after a run of seven league games without a win.

Cagliari, two points outside the drop zone in Serie A, have announced that former manager Davide Ballardini has rejoined the club as their new manager after eight years away from the club.

Champions League winner Danny Blind has taken the reins at SC Heerenveen, his first role since standing down as Ajax’s Director of Football in 2009.

Seattle Sounders have appointed Teitur Thordarsson as their new manager after Sigi Schmid left the club when they failed to make the post-season earlier this month.


Zeljko Buvac has reported back from the training ground about the progress of two players: Firstly, Moritz Leitner is now far more capable of consistently rounding the goalkeeper when given the chance; Youngster Karl-Heinz Horn has been improving lately and is now working on his first-touch.
