The first of the month brings the regular meeting and feedback from BVB boardroom to the senior squad management. To summarise, the board are very pleased with Grayson Surman’s overall leadership of the team. This has been underlined by the fans’ belief that his management is getting the best out of Mats Hummels.

Assistant Manager Zeljko Buvac delivered the monthly training report:
- Roman Weidenfeller and Marcel Schmelzer (both tactics) have both impressed the coaching staff, as has the fitness of youngster Josef Odenthal, though there were continued concerns over Kostas Katsouranis (fitness).
- Among the youth players, Nils Lennard Dietz (tactics) has shone brightest over the past month.
