Champions League: Matchday 6 (E-H)

Late drama in Group H saw Dortmund snatch a 2-2 draw at Arsenal, with Julian Schieber’s 85th minute goal knocking last season’s beaten finalists into the Europa League after they dominated much of their must-win match. Juventus will join the Germans in the last sixteen after a 2-0 win at Olympiakos.

With Arsenal failing to qualify for the First Knockout Round, it means both of last year’s finalists are out of the tournament. Groups E and F already had their qualification places sorted, though Basel’s 1-0 win over Zenit saw them snatch a Europa League spot ahead of Dinao Zagreb.

The top two sides in Group E played out  dead rubber, but saw Real Madrid beat Benfica 4-1 to seal group victory. Group G’s final fixtures were played last week due to Bayern Munich’s participation at the FIFA Club World Cup.
