Mario Mandzukic became the third player this season to score five goals in a single match, as he fired Bayern Munich towards a 7-2 win at Düsseldorf, and claim the Spieler des Tages award for his stunning performance on Sunday.

There was another hat-trick on Sunday as VfL Bochum fought back from behind 3-0 down inside 25 minutes at Mainz to grab a point thanks to Nikoloz Gelashvili’s 27-minute treble. The top six all won over the weekend, with Dortmund maintaining the four-point gap over Schalke after coming from behind to beat Frankfurt 3-1 at home.
