Wolfsburg continued their good run of form against top-of-the-table Dortmund with a late equaliser to snatch a point from Signal Iduna Park after a 2-2 draw. After a goalless first-half dominated by the home side, it was the visitors who opened the scoring midway through the second.

Fágner got on the end of a great ball from Diego, beat Marcel Schmelzer for pace and smashed a shot past Weidenfeller from the edge of the box. The lead lasted just five minutes though, when Marco Reus turned home Götze’s cross to level, and five minutes later BVB were in front.

From a Wolfsburg corner, BVB broke forwards with Santana and Reus. The latter slipped the ball past an offside trap and Julian Schieber crashed it into the bottom corner from 18 yards out. There were just two minutes left on the clock when Naldo thumped a long-ball over the top, expertly brought down by Marcel Schäfer who rounded the ‘keeper for a dramatic equaliser.

Dortmund stay top, despite Schalke’s last-minute winner at Nürnberg, and are back in action on Wednesday with a trip to Werder Bremen.

Match report by @realtimeFM:

[00] The visitors gets us underway in the rain as competitive football returns in front of the Yellow Wall!

[05] It’s been end-to-end stuff in the first five minutes but no killer ball as Naldo and Santana have snuffed out passes at either end. Gündogan had a shot charged down earlier. Perisic takes a free-kick quickly and ABeck wins BVB’s first corner. Santana’s header is claimed by Benaglio.

[07] Götze somehow gets on the end of Reus’s cross ahead of Naldo and Medojevic, but grazes the bar with his header.

[12] Götze does well to win the ball back on the edge of the Wolfsburg box when Perisic is challenged, eveentually working the ball to Gündogan but it’s scrambled away. In the midst of it all, Jönsson handles on the edge of the penalty arc and BVB have a free-kick a yard outside the box.

[13] Ivan Perisic curls the free-kick round the wall, Benaglio is helpless to watch but it comes back off the cross bar. Götze prods it back goalwards but the ‘keeper gathers.

[20] Dortmund in control, eight shots to Wolfsburg’s zero, and 72% of possession, but haven’t made a breakthrough yet, but they’re pressing hard. Rasmus Jönsson is cautioned when he clatters Gündogan.

[23] Schieber wins a second corner when his header is tipped over at full-stretch by the ‘keeper. Good work down the left by Schmelzer.

[29] Wolfsburg win a corner when Diego gets away down the left. Hummels heads the delivery away and Reus clears up.

[30] Goalless at the half-hour mark, but the four other matches underway have goals: Hannover 0-1 Bochum, Hamburg 2-1 Gladbach, Leverkusen 1-1 Frankfurt, Nürnberg 2-0 Schalke.

[33] Bochum are now 2-0 up at Hannover, and Julian Draxler has pulled goal back for Schalke who are 1-2 down at Nürnberg.

[36] Sven Bender is caught late and hobbles off for treatment, Dortmund still controlling the midfield with ten men.

[38] Makoto Hasebe trips Reus 20 yards out. Perisic curls it round the wal again, but the ‘keeper pushes it away.

[40] Slobodan Medojevic joins Jönsson in the book with a foul on Beck. Schalke have pulled it back to two-apiece at Nürnberg.

[44] Naldo is commanding the Wolfsburg area, clearing everything that Reus and Schmelzer swing in. We’ll have two additional minutes in this first half.

[45] Gündogan heads a delivery wide from a free-kick wide on the right-hand side.

[45+2] Bender hits a dipping half-volley from 20 yards out but Benaglio is on his toes to dive and keep hold of it.

[45+2] Marco Reus cuts inside and lets fly with a drive from outside the box which skips off the wet turf but Benaglio pushes it away.
