This weekend’s matches saw an average of four goals per game as the Bundesliga season resumed after the winter break. Dortmund were held to a draw at home by Wolfsburg courtesy of an 88th-minute equaliser, while Schalke had a 90th-minute goal from Marco Höger to thank for a 4-3 win at Nürnberg after being two-down inside twenty minutes.

Bayern Munich were cruising to a 3-0 win at Mainz in Saturday evening before a crazy last five minutes saw the teams exchange a further four goals, and the champions clung on to win 4-3. Elsewhere Hamburg climb into the top four with a 2-1 win over Mönchengladbach.
