BREAKING: Roman Out, BVB Trailing Isla?

weidenfellerReports are coming out from Signal Iduna Park that first-choice goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller has been sent home to recover from a virus, less than a week after second-choice Mitchell Langerak handed in a transfer request at the club.

Weidenfeller will miss tomorrow’s match at Fürth and the trip to Stuttgart, and BVB staff are concerned that he may be out until after the visit of Leverkusen in a fortnight’s time, depending on his recovery time.

Football Daily are claiming that BVB are set to table a bid for Chilean right-back Mauricio Isla, whose agent is quoted as saying that “[Isla] would be very tempted by a move to Dortmund”. The player is reportedly far from happy at Juventus after only making one start this season, and is considering his options.

Charlton Athletic will be looking for a new manager after Chris Powell was appointed as the new man in charge at the Premier League’s bottom-side Burnley.
