Strong BVB Reserves beat Düsseldorf 3-0

Dortmund’s U23 / Reserves Manager David Wagner used a squad of 21 players as the side ran out comfortable 3-0 winners over Fortuna Düsseldorf’s second-string today at Stadion Rote Erde.

Dortmund were ahead inside two and a half minutes when Viktor Fischer’s shot was parried by the visiting ‘keeper and Daniel Ginczek pounced quickest to give die Schwarzgelben the lead. Wagner made several changes after the break, eventually leaving only goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller as the only man to play the whole 90 minutes.

Substitute Patrick Adam Dytko ran onto a  great through-ball from man-of-the-match Moritz Leitner to curl a shot home from 15 yards out to double the lead on 63 minutes, before Düsseldorf ‘keeper conceded a third in stoppage time when Quirin Riemann’s header from an Alex Lacey cross came back off the crossbar, hit him on the back of the head, and rolled over the line.
