Mario Mandzukic scored four goals to put him top of the Bundesliga scoring charts as Bayern Munich demolished Schalke 5-0 on Sunday afternoon. Arjen Robben put the defending champions in front inside quarter of an hour, before Mandzukic doubled the score around the half-hour mark.

He added three more after the break to inflict a third defeat on Schalke in four matches, and see Bayern draw to within two points of their opponents. Schalke have now shipped 11 goals at their two biggest rivals this season.

Dortmund have extended their lead thanks to a 2-2 draw at home to Mainz, their 19th league match without defeat. At the bottom, Bochum beat Köln to lift them out of the bottom three.
