TUESDAY 11TH MARCH 2014: Mario Götze and club captain Mats Hummels have both resumed full training following three-week absence after suffering ankle and hamstring injuries (respectively) in the Champions League match at Spartak Moscow. The club’s staff don’t expect that either will play in tomorrow’s home leg, but may feature during the weekend’s trip to Freiburg.

santanaFellow centre-back Felipe Santana (left) has been sent home from training after appearing to be suffering from a virus. It’s anticipated that he’ll be fit to return for the DFB-Pokal Semi-Final against Bayern Munich in a fortnight’s time.

The annual competition was last won by France in Lithuania last year. France and Spain have won 10 of the last 14 competitions between them.

Two of the eight UEFA Champions League Last 16 Second Leg ties were played tonight, with Juventus and Manchester City both booking their place in the Quarter-Finals of the continent’s most prestigious club competition. Dortmund host Spartak Moscow tomorrow night, leading 2-1 from the First Leg.
