[DD] Reus Injury News; U19 Qualifying Squads

MONDAY 05 MAY 2014: BVB medical staff have assessed Marco Reus after he was injured in a challenge towards the end of yesterday’s win at Bayern Munich. The 24 year-old twisted his knee awkwardly, but thankfully there’s no long-term damage.

He will, however, be sidelined for a fortnight meaning he’ll likely miss the DFB-Pokal Final, and will face a fitness race to make the UEFA Champions League Final on 24 May.

Andreas Beck made the Team of the Week for his stand-out performance against Bayern Munich, whose goalkeeper Manuel Neuer also made the XI. Håvard Nordtveit won the individual player award after his late winner for Mönchengladbach against Düsseldorf.

Benjamin Bella and Jeremy Dudziak have both been selected for the German U19 squad ahead of their UEFA U19 Qualifying fixtures later this month. The squad play matches in Croatia and Belarus either side of the visit of Poland in Group 1.

Masallah Aydemir has also received a call-up today, and he’ll be looking to represent Turkey in their qualifiers against Slovenia, Montenegro and England in Group 5.
