TUESDAY 13 MAY 2014: Olympique Lyonnais have sealed the French Ligue 1 title with a match to spare after current holders Paris Saint-Germain lost 2-3 at mid-table Sochaux tonight. Lyon came away with a 1-0 win at Troyes thanks to Maxime Gonalons’s goal after quarter of an hour.

The top two went into the penultimate match of the season separated by four points, but the gap is now seven with just one match to play. It’s Lyon’s first championship since 2008 when they had won a staggering seven consecutive titles.
