Dortmund’s second-side ended their non-competitive season with a 3-1 win at home over local sixth-tier side SV Bad Rothenfelde. Mitchell Langerak, Kostas Katsouranis, Jakub Blaszczykowski, and Marc Hornschuh were among the side, with Reserves Manager David Wagner allowed access to fringe players that didn’t play at the weekend.
After having a goal chalked-off for offside inside the first thirty seconds, Daniel Ginczek finally opened the scoring after 27 minutes, before Dirk Bauer doubled-the lead eight minutes later. A Josef Bungert strike four minutes after the interval made it three-nil ahead of several personnel changes for BVB.
Holger Pfrengle reduced the deficit with half-hour to play, but Rothenfelde weren’t able to create other chances, as Dortmund ran out comfortable winners.
The entire BVB squad has reported fit ahead of Saturday’s showdown with Barcelona, and Jakub Blaszczykowski deserved his man-of-the-match award to keep himself in the frame for a place in that match.
