It’s of no surprise that the Borussia Dortmund board are pleased with Gray Surman’s performance at the club this season, guiding the team to success in all three competitions, becoming only the seventh side in history to pair the domestic double with UEFA Champions League success.
“The club’s performance in competitions this season was pleasing. The team’s fantastic overall performance in the Champions League has been a particular highlight.
“Additionally, the signings you’ve made this season proved adequate. Finally, player performances proved to be at a high level. The fans have been very pleased with the form of Mats Hummels.”
Of the players who made more than ten appearances all season, it’s the three centre-backs – Santana, Hummels, and Subotic – who achieved the highest average match rating. Ivan Perisic is widely fancied to be voted Bundesliga player of the year next week.
