Dortmund have today announced that Werder Bremen left-back Cimo-Patric Röcker will join the club in a £190k move from the Weserstadion, plus 25% profit from a future sell-on.
Röcker turned out 24 times for Werder Bremen II last season, scoring twice, creating four assists, and collecting six man-of-the-match awards, though he didn’t feature when they lost 0-1 at home to Dortmund II in January. He has been capped for Germany U19s, and was a runner-up with the U17s in the European Championships in 2011.
The 20-year old defender revealed that he was “absolutely thrilled to have signed with such an illustrious club,” with senior BVB management commenting that they saw fantastic things in his footballing future.
Röcker has signed a 4-year deal initially worth £2,700 p/w including a rise to £7,750 after playing for the first team ten times, with the club-standard 5% annual rise.
