Denmark, Germany and Switzerland have each been allocated an extra place in next season’s UEFA Europa League due to their places in the Fair Play Award table.
This means that relegated VfL Bochum will enter at the competition’s First Qualifying Round, despite finishing rock-bottom of this season’s 1-Bundesliga with just 26 points from 34 matches, having conceded a staggering 91 goals in the process.
Bochum picked up just 30 cautions during the competition, and were one of three sides not to have a player sent-off. Bayer Leverkusen “won” the Fair Play Award with 25y+1r, but had already qualified for the Champions League, so the place went to Fair Play runners-up Bochum.
