The Borussia Dortmund board have confirmed to their First Team Manager Gray Surman the budget for the forthcoming 2014-15 season after an analysis of income during the close season.
The club has paid out £22m to shareholders in dividends after making a £40.5m profit this season, including an estimated £1.04m being raised through club membership fees over the summer.
Surman will be handed a £28m transfer kitty, with 100% of any incoming transfer funds being made available. The club is currently spending £905k p/w on wages, and the club will authorise up to £930k p/w before reducing the transfer budget on a sliding scale.
The budget has been increased by last week’s sale of Jakub Blaszczykowski to Marseille for £6m. Heinz Lindner arrives from Everton in a £2.5m move at the beginning of July, with the club saving over £33k p/w in wages between the two players.
