[DD] Contract Offered to Matthys; Leo to Lyon?

DAILY DIARY, 16 July 2014: BVB have offered a contract to Anderlecht centre-back Hervé Matthys after the two clubs agreed a £450,000 deal for the 18 year-old. The hot prospect was offered a 3-year deal at £1,300 p/w, rising to £2,000 after ten league games for BVB.

Olympique Lyonnais have made an offer to loan Leonardo Bittencourt for the season, paying a £60,000 monthly fee as well as contributing 10% of the player’s wages. Inter, Napoli and Atletico Madrid are also believed to be interested in the 20 year-old midfielder.

On-loan Marc Hornschuh and Mustafa Amini both played 80 minutes for SV Sandhausen in their 0-1 friendly defeat at home to French second-tier side CS Sedan Ardennes tonight.

The UEFA Champions League began it’s Second Qualifying Phase tonight, with seventeen First Leg ties taking place across Europe. Biggest winners on the night were Celtic, who demolished Estonian champions Flora Tallinn 5-0 at home, and Dinamo Zagreb who won 4-0 at Avenir Beggen in Luxembourg.
