Another win away from home for Dortmund this summer, coming from behind to beat Premier League Southampton 3-1 on the sunny south coast of England.
BVB made eight changes from the starting XI who won at Hull on Tuesday, with Lars Bender captaining the side on only his second appearance for Dortmund, and Hervé Matthys making his début for the side after signing yesterday from Anderlecht.
Saints took the lead after quarter of an hour when Billy Sharp reacted quickest to a loose ball in the box, slotting past Lindner amidst an energetic opening period.
Perisic was denied an equaliser within ninety seconds by a foul, but parity was restored on 24 minutes when André Schürrle drilled a low shot home when the hosts couldn’t clear their lines, allowing Gündogan to play the ball back into the box.
Elmohamady had a goal rightly chalked-off for offside shortly after, and after the break Billy Sharp came within a whisker of a second goal when his header hit the post.
After a host of changes, Robert Lewandowski put BVB in front when he combined with fellow sub Fischer – in a changed two up-top system – slotting home from twelve yards.
The visitors’ better fitness levels paid off as the second-half progressed, even as Saints made changes. Viktor Fischer sealed the win when he turned home Löwe’s through-ball with fifteen minutes to play.

Match report by @realtimeFM:
Saints kick-off here at St Mary’s in front of a sell-out.
Early corner for Southampton as Röcker takes the ball away from Elmohamady when he gets on the end of Schneiderlin’s cross from the left. Lindner has an easy gather from Cork’s header.
Schürrle has a pop but his drive is closed down by Clyne on the edge of the box.
Dortmund looking dangerous down the right with Reus and Gündogan, but they can’t quite work the ball into the box.
Perisic makes a great challenge on Cork, before releasing Schieber but he’s forced wide and can’t get the ball across the area for a team-mate.
Second corner for Saints as Santana goes to intercept a ball through to Sharp, but slices his clearance behind. Lallana’s two crosses into the box are cleared, and BVB counter with Schieber but he can’t finish.
Schürrle drags a shot wide from 25 yards out.
Nathaniel Clyne beats the high BVB offside line but his cross is wild and heads straight out for a goal-kick.
Southampton 1-0 Borussia Dortmund: Lallana gets away from Koch down the left and sends the ball across the face of goal. Santana gets a touch on it but it falls for Billy Sharp who can’t miss from six yards out.
Disallowed! Schürrle sends in a cross which Stephens and Julian Schieber go for, the ball squirming loose to Perisic who slots home an instant equaliser, but Schieber has been penalised for a foul.
Great passage of play by Southampton to work the ball into the box from both flanks, but BVB’s defence holding in there to clear away.
Julian Schieber gets beyond his marker but looks in two minds whether to shoot or square to Reus, and in the end neither really happens. Saints scramble it away.
Southampton 1-1 Borussia Dortmund: The hosts couldn’t clear and allowed Koch to put the ball back in the box. Clyne’s header away drops to Gündogan who nods it back to André Schürrle who opens his Dortmund account with a low drive from twelve yards out in off the far post.
Saints win a corner straight from the restart with Elmohamady’s run being halted by Röcker. Free-kick given to BVB after the delivery.
Schürrle spots Boruc off his line and tries a 35-yarder but it drops narrowly wide.
Disallowed! Corner for Saints, Koch wins it from Lallana. Matthys heads away the delivery but it’s hit back towards the far post where Ahmed Elmohamady slams it past Lindner, but the flag’s up. Correct call.
Another wild drive from Schürrle as he breaks for Dortmund, no one ahead of him to play in.
Julian Koch is being given far too much room up Dortmund’s right. He’s caught offside, but he’s continually able to swing a cross in.
 Corner, Saints. Perisic heads away.
Röcker’s cross nearly catches Saints out as Bardachow heads it back across his own goal at the far post, Clyne boots it behind his own goal as Perisic and Schieber looks to turn home the loose ball. Corner cleared eventually, but Saints lived dangerously there.
Route one stuff for Dortmund as Reus flicks on Lindner’s huge punt forwards. Schieber latches on to it but Boruc saves at his feet, one minute before the break.
[45+1] Sharp gets behind the back four, but for Koch’s perfectly timed tackle. Lallana’s corner headed behind by Perisic for a second. That’s cleared away.
HALF-TIME: Southampton 1-1 Borussia Dortmund (Friendly)
[HT] Six changes for Dortmund during the interval, and they’ve gone for two up top. Koch, Matthys, Gündogan, Reus, Perisic, and Schieber all withdrawn. Straight replacements with Beck, Subotic, Sven Bender, and Götze for the first four. Fischer and Lewandowski to partner each other upfront.
[HT] Southampton have made two subs: Luke Shaw – a former target for Surman during his time at Wigan – and Lewis Flenley are on for Fonte and Stephens.
BVB get the second-half under way. Two subs make an instant impact as Shaw and Götze clatter into each other accidentally.
Schürrle finds himself unmarked on the edge of the box as Beck’s cross evades everyone, but he snatches at the shot.
Lewandowski gets to the goal line past his marker but can’t quite pull the ball back for a waiting Fischer. Escape for Saints there.
Schürrle repeats the move from the other flank, but Boruc claims his ball into the box.
Woodwork! Elmohamady gets away from Röcker and bends a great cross into Billy Sharp whose header beats Lindner, but comes back off the post.
Two more changes for BVB: Chris Löwe is on for Schürrle on the left flank, while Marcel Schmelzer replaces Cimo Röcker at left-back.
Wonderful counter attacking move from Dortmund after an Elmohamady shot is blocked at the other end. Fluid stuff ending with Schmelzer’s cross being headed narrowly over the bar by Lewandowski.
Southampton 1-2 Borussia Dortmund: The visitors go in front as they keep up the pressure. Lars Bender hassles and wins the ball back, finding Fischer who plays it first-time through to Robert Lewandowski. He takes a touch to beat Bardachow before slotting past Boruc.
Change for Saints after the goal, Lambert replaced by Bothroyd.
Löwe looks full of energy since his introduction, but he has a shot charged down. At the other end, Santana is dominant at the back for Dortmund. The Bender brothers look very solid in the middle too.
Three final changes for Dortmund as they replace Lindner in goal with Weidenfeller, Lars Bender makes way for Praet, and Hummels comes on for Santana in the back four. Entirely different XI out there from the starters now. No run-out for birthday-boy Kevin Großkreutz it seems.
Götze bends one at Boruc from 22 yards out.
Five subs for Saints: Fielding replaces Boruc in goal, elsewhere Clyne, Elmohamady, Schneiderlin, and Sharp are replaced by Mayuka, Chaplow, Richardson, and Ward-Prowse.
Instant impact by Frazer Richardson, but not one that will impress Tony Mowbray. He clatters through Löwe before he’s even touched the ball and is the first player cautioned.
Southampton 1-3 Borussia Dortmund: Chris Löwe cuts inside from the left flank onto Sven Bender’s ball, before sliding through to Viktor Fischer who takes it into the box and nutmegs the Saints ‘keeper to double the Dortmund lead.
Fischer’s confidence is up since the goal, but a first-time shot from 25 yards is a little ambitious as he drags it well wide.
Lewandowski is inches away from making it 4-1 as Löwe beats his man and whips in a cross. Lewandowski stretches and misses connecting by half a step.
Final ten minutes here, Dortmund look the fitter of the two sides, especially as their side out there are all substitutes. Saints, in their first friendly this summer, seem to have run out of ideas.
Here’s one idea, though: Jason Puncheon on for Adam Lallana. Hugo Rodallega still on the bench after his £1.6m move from Fulham a week ago.
Sublime challenge from Frazer Richardson, who was booked ten minutes ago. Fischer gets beyond the back four but right on the edge of the box, Richardson executes the perfect tackle to take the ball away from the Dortmund man. Get that wrong and he’s walking.
Sven Bender’s ball over the top for Fischer wins Dortmund a corner as Richardson makes another good challenge. Hummels heads towards goal but it’s cleared away at the far post.
Bothroyd nearly gets behind the BVB defence but Schmelzer comes across and takes it away from him. Composed defending.
Mayuka blazes over the top after Chaplow plays the ball back. That was a great chance, but he snatched at it. As BVB break and win a free-kick, the officials indicate an additional two minutes.
[90+3] Schmelzer wins BVB a corner in possibly the last action of the match, Cork deflects his cross behind. No time to take it though.
FULL-TIME: Southampton 1-3 Borussia Dortmund (Friendly) [PKM]
Competent win for BVB as they came from behind to dominate. Surman once again looked frustrated with several wayward long-shots, but he’d rather they take place now than when it really counts, as new signings want to impress their new boss. One last friendly before the DFL-Supercup, with Dortmund travelling to Everton on Tuesday.
