BVB’s youngsters got another ninety minutes under the belts with their third match of pre-season, coming away with a 1-1 draw at Bayern Munich this morning, matching their opponents throughout.

New signings Emiliano Mancinelli and Samy Bourard didn’t take part, with Mancinelli being given more time to complete his move from Pescara, and Bourard unfortunately twisted his ankle in the warm-up and faces a fortnight out.

Bayern went ahead after half an hour through their left-sided midfielder Gerardo when he cut into the box and fired past Daniel Schmadtke, but BVB were back on level terms within five minutes when Ogün Gümüstas turned home Josef Bungert’s fine cross from close range.

BVB’s next scheduled match is the U19 Bundesliga opener hosting SV Wuppertaler, though additional friendlies are likely to be added to the calendar shortly.
