It’s advantage Flamengo after tonight’s Copa Libertadores Final First Leg as they scored a late equaliser to snatch a 2-2 draw in Belo Horizonte, away to Altético Mineiro. The two sides are separated by games won in the Brasileiro league table.
Brazilian international midfielder Bernard opened the scoring for Mineiro on 25 minutes with his 20th goal of the season, before Adryan’s equaliser ten minutes later.
Ari thought he’d won it late on for Mineiro when he bundled home a cross from close range, but Flamengo rescued the draw with Joaozinho’s sixth goal of the competition to nicely set-up the Second Leg next Wednesday (away goals aren’t taken into account).
Atlético Mineiro beat holders Fluminense 3-1 on aggregate in the last four to reach today’s final, while Flamengo have scored in every match of the competition. The sides will also meet in the last sixteen of the Copa do Brasil in a fortnight’s time.
