The extent of the injury suffered by Ivan Perisic in yesterday’s 3-1 win over FC Nürnberg has been assessed, and the midfielder – the Bundesliga Player of the Season last term – will be out for a month having twisted his knee in a challenge with Adam Hlousek, who was cautioned.
The 25 year-old will miss the trips to Hannover and Standard Liège, and the visit of Wolfsburg and will be doubtful for Croatia’s Euro 2016 Qualifiers next month in Andorra and Kazakhstan. Further updates as we have them.
Erik Durm (left) and Florian Hübner both started for Braunschweig last night in their 1-3 home defeat by Osnabrück in 2.Bundesliga, with neither particularly having much impact on the game, with the home side poor throughout. The defeat sees the second-tier side slip to 12th.
Koray Günter had a much better time of it at St Pauli where he impressed during their 1-0 win over Ingolstadt on Tuesday, despite picking up a late booking. The 20 year-old centre-back is rated highly by BVB who are pleased he’s gaining first-team experience during his loan spell.
