Bundesliga Review: Matchday Nine

bundesliga-RESULTS-540

No side in the German top flight managed a win on the road on matchday nine of the Bundesliga, though Werder Bremen and Stuttgart did travel home with a point from their respective fixtures.

Karim Bellarabi’s brace for Hamburg saw them move top of the table with a win over Wolfsburg (who slipped four places to sixth), and sets up a fascinating match this coming Wednesday against Dortmund have climbed to second with just two goals scored separating the sides at the top after they came from behind to beat Schalke.

Düsseldorf’s unbeaten record extends another week as they don’t play until Wednesday, but they will be travelling to Bayern Munich who put four past Freiburg on Saturday, with three goals coming in six first-half minutes.

Elsewhere, Mainz beat Frankfurt,  Leverkusen defeated Hannover, and Augsburg defeated fellow promoted side Hertha in a 4-2 cracker.
