Düsseldorf continue to thwart Dortmund at every opportunity as their U19 side triumphed 3-1 at the Paul Janes Stadion this morning, despite the visitors having the better game in the Junioren-Bundesliga Group 3 match.

Heribert Klosterman hit a first-half brace to give the hosts a two-goal lead at the interval, before a strike from Josef Odenthal pulled Dortmund back into the match shortly after the restart. But David Vollath scored a fantastic volley with 25 minutes to play to seal the win. BVB slip to fifth after Duisburg condemned Fortuna Köln to their eighth consecutive defeat this morning. BVB are next in action in two weeks against second-placed FC Köln.

Two managers lost their jobs this weekend with Lyon firing Lucien Favre after their defeat at Havre, while Dortmund’s 4-1 victory over Frankfurt yesterday ended the tenure of Armin Veh.

Good news for Werder Bremen though, who have appointed Marco Kurz as their new manager, just 18 months into his time with Augsburg. Augsburg lost at Bayern Munich yesterday to slip to ninth in Bundesliga, while Werder Bremen sit 15th with just one win in 11.
