Benjamin Bella missed a first-half penalty but was able to pop-up and score a vital stoppage time goal to seal all three points for Dortmund U19 at Borussia Mönchengladbach this morning.
Ilker Aydin put BVB in front with just over two minutes on the clock, tapping home an early Jeremy Dudziak square-ball across the six-yard box before Ogün Gümüstas won a 26th minute penalty. Up-stepped Bella, but his spot-kick was pushed on to the post by the home goalkeeper.
The game remained at 1-0 to BVB until stoppage time when Bella smashed home a 22-yarder into the top corner to double Dortmund’s lead. Moments after the restart, Holger Brendel grabbed a consolation for the hosts but time was against them in finding an equaliser.
BVB, with four wins on the bounce now, climb to third in the table after FC Köln’s defeat.
