Gray Surman has publicly announced his desire to sign Club Brugge midfielder Jos Verniers for the first time, after weeks of speculation and enquiries with the Belgian club.
The 20 year-old defensive midfielder came through the academy system at Jan Breydel, and has made fourteen appearances for the first team this season, creating four assists. Verniers is a Belgium U21 team mate of Dennis Praet, having earned 12 caps for his country at that level.
Following Surman’s recent comments to World Soccer that he would do everything he could to acquire Verniers, the player was asked about a potential move to BVB by Nr10.be: “I’d find it hard to leave my boyhood club should Dortmund make an offer, but the chance to join a club like them doesn’t come along every day and it might be hard to turn that down.”
Club Brugge have reportedly rejected a £2.5m bid ahead of the transfer window opening.
