BREAKING NEWS, Wednesday 14 January 2015:
After a week of negotiation that saw BVB have a £4m bid rejected for Club Brugge midfielder Jos Verniers, before the Belgian side slapped an asking price of £11.5m on the player, the two clubs have settled upon a £8.5m deal for the twenty year-old.
Brugge have given BVB permission to discuss a contract with the player, however due to a first-option deal in place with Juventus, the Italian champions will automatically have a matching offer accepted should they choose to make one.
Dortmund have discussed a three-year deal with Verniers, worth up to £450,000 per annum. Should Verniers win a senior international cap for Belgium during his time at Dortmund, then he’ll be immediately entitled to a 30% pay rise. It’s widely believed that all parties involved in the contract discussion left Signal Iduna Park happy and Verniers is expected to sign next week unless Juventus make a matching bid.
