Benjamin Bella’s early strike and an Ibro Beslija first-half penalty put Dortmund on the road to a place in the Junioren-Pokal Semi-Finals with an eventual 2-1 victory at home to Schalke in this morning’s Quarter-Final tie.

Samy Bourard and Josef Odenthal exchanged passes before the latter slid the ball into the box for Bella, who beat the offside trap perfectly, to slot past the visiting ‘keeper inside seven minutes. The visitors were the more physical side, but far too much for the referee who penalised Herbert Schmitz for manhandling Josef Bungert in the box four minutes before the interval, and up-stepped Beslija to drill it down the middle to double the lead.

Tolga Güleç found a way past Daniel Schmadtke from 25 yards out inside the final fifteen minutes but Dortmund held strong to progress to the last four where they’ll face either Cottbus, Dinamo Dresden, or Köln.
