Aachen 0-1 Dortmund (U19 Group Three)

BVB’s U19 manager Rodolfo Borrell gave run-outs to several new trialists in the top-of-the-table Group 3 clash at Alemannia Aachen this morning, and was rewarded for his faith with a Klaus Mesenhöler goal on the half hour providing all three points.

The home side had the better chances, but BVB ‘keeper Wolfgang Prus held firm and denied Aachen twice and the hosts failed to test him in the second-half, with some wayward shooting as they tried to claw themselves back into the game.

The win moves Dortmund back into second, three points clear of third-place Aachen, and two points behind leaders Leverkusen who won at ten-man Bochum this morning.

The senior Dortmund management will observe a friendly between the new influx of youth candidates and the current U19 squad on Tuesday night.
