Dortmund U19s won their eleventh match in a row, and second over FC Köln in the space of four days, with a 2-1 win at the Franz-Kremer-Stadion that booked their place in the national youth cup final.
Michael Stöhr put the home side in front after half an hour, and Köln head the lead to the break, with BVB attacking but unable to test ‘keeper Cihan Bilgin.
Saeid Hosaini came on at the break and immediately starting causing problems for the Köln defence, looking stronger on the ball than anyone else on the park. It took him fifteen minutes before he beat Bilgin with an incisive finish from 15 yards to level the scores with an hour gone.
Inside the final the minutes, Quirin Riemann chose the perfect time to open his account for the year, smashing home at the far post from a low cross from débutante Marco Langen. Karl-Heinz Horn came close late on to seal it, but the one goal advantage was enough to see them through.
Dortmund will play Energie Cottbus in the final on 03 May after they beat Dinamo Dresden on penalties following a 1-1 draw at Stadion Lipezer Straße. Cottbus are 7th in Group 1, while Dortmund sit top of Group 3.
