Paris Saint-Germain have reclaimed the Ligue 1 Orange title from Lyon with a 4-0 win at RC Lens, after second-place Marseille slumped to defeat at Saint-Etienne earlier in the afternoon.
Marseille were a goal and a man down inside six minutes following Benoît Cheyrou’s red card for a professional foul, while Romain Hamouma despatched the resultant penalty. Pierre Aubameyang added a brace before Loïc Remy pulled a late goal back for Marseille.
That result meant that PSG would win the title in the evening’s match at Lens, and they burst out of the blocks, going two-up inside seven minutes through Denys Garmash and Ander Herrera. Marek Hamsik scored a third, with Garmash adding a fourth all before the break.
PSG went thirteen points clear, with just four matches left in the regular season. Last year’s champions Lyon sit down in 6th, four points off the Champions League spots.
