17 June: Transfer News, and Copa Libertadores


Four large deals have gone through in the last 48 hours, with Swansea City recouping all of the potential £14m fee they spent on Son Heung-Min on Monday with the sale of 23 year-old Argentinian international midfielder Ezequiel Cirigliano to Tottenham Hotspur for £16.25m, one year after his free move from River Plate.

25 year old Polish international striker Artur Sobiech has joined Wolves from Hannover in a £15.25m move, having scored 23  goals in 1.Bundesliga over the last four seasons for the club, relegated this term.

Giuseppe Bellusci has moved from Juventus to PSG in a £9.25m deal, and Wigan Athletic have landed the signature of Cheikhou Kouyaté from local rivals Blackburn for £6.75m.


Fred scored a late equaliser for Fluminense in the Copa Libertadores Final First Leg at São Paulo tonight. The 31 year-old international, with 6 goals in 17 caps for Brazil, drilled home in injury-time after Maycon put the hosts in front ten minutes after the break.

The Final Second Leg will be held on 24 June at the Maracanã.


Relegated La Liga side Valladolid have announced their new manager is former Oviedo and Betis player Oli. It’s the 43 year-old’s first managerial role after obtaining his pro license in April.
