Fluminense have won their second Copa Libertadores in three seasons with a 1-0 victory at home in the Final Second Leg to win the trophy 2-1 on aggregate against a São Paulo side who ended the game with nine men.

After his late, late equaliser in last week’s First Leg, Fred scored from the spot shortly after the hour mark after Betao upended Thiago Neves in the box. São Paulo were reduced to ten men as Casemiro was shown a second yellow card for dissent before Fred slotted home.

Fabrício was stretchered off with twelve minutes to play after São Paulo had made all three substitutes, and the hosts played out the victory in front of a capacity crowd at the Maracanã.
