The Reserves and Academy sides were both in action today in a double-header of matches. The Under-19s were up first in the U19 Bundesliga where they failed to record a victory for the sixth time this season. The 0-0 draw keeps them 12th (of 14) in Group 3 with 4 wins and 2 draws.
Dortmund’s reserve side faired better, with a 1-0 win over SC Freiburg. The U23s didn’t feature any of the senior squad, as First Team Manager looks forwards to Tuesday’s visit of Juventus in the Champions League. It’s nine wins in a row for them now, and today’s came courtesy of a 71st minute goal from René Ruach (below) following a cross from Patrick Dytko.
